The REE© - Procedure

REE© means Resonanzboden-Energie-Egalisation (german), Soundboard-Energie-Egalisation (english).

The REE© - Procedure significantly improves the sound of a grand piano or piano and can be customized individually. This is achieved by the first-class processing of the soundboard. The soundboard is the largest oscillating part of the instrument and has a decisive influence on the sound of the instrument.

The REE© - Procedure appeals to the piano player and the sound lover, who wants a special precision from the instrument. The acoustic pattern is precisely worked out. The precision allows a much more dynamic, more complete and safer interpretation of the playing. The acoustic pattern is fanned out by the sensitive piano area and its warm sound and runs evenly to the powerful forte range and its balanced proportion of consonant and dissonant acoustic colours.

The REE© - Procedure: an innovation.

The most efficient method for optimizing the soundboard. Worldwide.

The strings of a grand piano or piano are vibrated while playing.

The soundboard as the largest vibration-sensitive surface in the instrument absorbs the vibrations of the strings. It reacts like a membrane and transmits the vibrations as audible sound to the listener. 88 keys with more than 200 strings, frequencies from 27 to 4000 Hz, volume from the piano range to the forte range are received by the soundboard. These vibrations are mixed in the soundboard. There is an unwanted overlapping of vibrations, which have a disadvantageous effect and are perceived by the listener as irregular. Unbalanced volumes, uneven tone timbre, dissonant and faint acoustic colours are the resulting problems perceived and criticized by pianists.

The REE© - Procedure can be used to differentiate the oscillations of the soundboard, to dissolve or reduce the above-mentioned irregularity, and to continue to incorporate individual wishes into the sound.

We achieve the differentiation by applying REE © -Units on the soundboard of pianos. The REE © -Units will be installed at specific points, which were previously determined within the framework of the REE © -procedure. These places are individual on each instrument, because each soundboard has its own characteristics. Due to the mass of the REE © -units, excessive vibrations at these points of the soundboard are shifted to other areas. As a result, these other areas, which have previously been undersized, gain additional energy.

After the extensive investigation of the soundboard and the analysis of its vibrational properties, the sizes of the REE © -Units are selected and attached to the determined locations. The sound quality of the instrument is considerably improved. You can hear the positive changes of the sound immediately after the completed REE © process.

A scientific study by the Fachhochschule Emden / Leer confirms the functioning and the efficiency of the

REE © - procedure (https://idw-online.de/de/news632365).

On which instruments is the REE© - Procedure applied?

The REE© - Procedure is independent of the brand.

The REE© - Procedure is applied to new instruments and used instruments.

It is preferably used on high-quality pianos.

Instruments of the middle class are also significantly improved.

Where does the REE© - Procedure take place?

The REE© - Procedure is performed by licensed piano makers / licensed piano shops near you. As a rule, the instrument is carried out in the shop or in the workshop of the piano maker.

If the is not possible, the REE© - Procedure can be carried out at the customer's place.

We invite you to try out.

After an appointment, you can test the sound of an instrument before and after the optimization using the REE© - Procedure.
